About Me

Jesse and I have been married for 4 years and counting. We met at Liberty University when we were freshmen and dated for all four years of college. We decided to stay in Lynchburg VA after we got married to establish ourselves in a town in which we were both familiar (and had mutual friends and jobs...so why not?!) I worked as a Server at Red Lobster while Jesse worked at Liberty as an Academic Advisor. I became pregnant eight months after we were married and had Ella on Nov. 26, 2007. We have loved having a little girl and are hoping to add to our family soon!
Shortly around the time Ella was born, Jesse completed his Master's degree from LU in Counseling.
In 2008, Jesse got a new job working for the Central VA Community Service Board. This was his first job in the field of psycology, and he loved it. He worked on the crisis team, aiding people with mental health and substance abuse problems. He assisted with hearings at Virginia Baptist Hospital, and thoroughly enjoyed working with the patients and judges on each case. In 2009, we decided that the best decision for his career would be to pursue his Doctorate of Psycology.
So, two weeks ago, we moved to California and Jesse began classes at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill.
During these last two years, I have learned a lot about how to balance having a baby and finding hobbies to give me a creative outlet. I poured myself into teaching myself how to cook, and have become a bonafide "foodie." I have enjoyed wonderful jobs cooking for families and teaching cooking classes at Culina in Lynchburg. I also pursued my other hobby of arranging wedding flowers, and started Petal Flower Company with Elisha Dudley in February 2009. We enjoyed 2 wonderful years together building our business and working with gorgeous flowers. Elisha took over the business when we left, and you can see our flowers at http://www.petalflowercompany.com/.
This move has been a great excercise for us. We have been at times overwhelmed with saddness to leave friends we love and a community we have gotten to know so well but we are excited to see where life will lead and we to gain new experiences living in a different place.
